Featured Nursery – Callie

Jenny shares her daughter Callie’s adorable nursery.
we do love the nursery (it’s not quite done – we’re going to add some wallpaper to 2 walls, actually. Eventually. :) )
The “its beautiful here” rack I found at Anthropologie – it was handmade in South Africa – just one of those random buys. The quilt was handmade by my mother who is an amazing seamstress. I’m trying to convince her to sell them on Etsy or the like – but they’re a massive, massive effort.

Featured Nursery – Twins!

Nicole sent us these photos of her 2 year old twins’ nursery, Jake and Delaney. So cute! Jake and Delaney have inspired Nicole to start her own business making infant & toddler clothing. Stop by HoityToityBaby.com.

You may also recognize Jake and Delaney from the movie Marley and Me. They played the first born son Patrick at about age 10 months.

“…I chose a “pottery barn” type look for the nursery. Using a base color of celery green and alternating soft pink and baby blue polkadots throughout the room. For the closet/s i chose to use the same soft pink for the interior of my daughter’s closet and the same baby blue for my son’s. I covered the clothing rod with a coordinating green satin fabric to finish the look. I also removed the dust catching closet doors and hung white curtains in their place. The cribs came from a local baby store called “BabyLove” (located in Coral Springs, I believe). They were quite possibly the greatest find for the room. They retailed for about $700.00 each but were marked down to $199.99 due to a “possible” defect in the finish on the wood. There was/is no defect. They were/are perfect! The crib bedding came from Target.com! And worked perfectly. The changing dresser is from the same collection as the cribs but above them I hung cabnets from Ikea! Another great find. I assembled them and had my husband hang them. The vintage rocker belonged to my husband’s mother when she was a toddler and the afgan hanging over it was made by my Grandmother. (Both of whom are deceseced). It’s nice to have a piece of each of them in the nursery. And to finish off the room the corner unit is the only item actually purchased from Pottery Barn! The entire nursery was done for $2000.00 (including paint/furniture and bedding)!
My children are my greatest accomplishment. And to see them play in their room is worth every penny!”
