Today’s mood board is sort of a retro-mod, eclectic design idea for a toddler room. I love the mustard floral wallpaper from Anthropologie which would be great for the accent wall behind the bed. The other walls could remain crispy white. The 2nd accessory I chose for the bedroom is the beautiful, vintage globe. The rest of the colors in the mood board tie into the colors on the globe. For a bit more depth to the room I added a bit of navy blue and some cool greys (on the bedding & the star pillow).

While the nursery mood board above was put together with a little girl in mind, you could easily make it more masculine:

In the masculine version of this mood board I’ve changed the wallpaper to something with a similar mustard color, Logpile in moss yellow. The lamp shade has been switched out for a crisp white one. (although a platinum or navy color would look equally nice). & I’ve gone with the same quirky designer for the wall print. I love this Bearded Sailor Print.

Good Morning. It is HOT, HOT, HOT here! 90s all week! Hope you had a nice weekend. We were busy with KARATE. Harper takes lessons now, and just got her Karate uniform. SO CUTE!

Today I’ve put together some quirky toddler BOY inspiration for you. The room was inspired by Mr. Snake. I LOVE all of the bright colors on his body.

I am not much of a “theme” decorator, so when I think of decor for a boy’s room all of the colors between orange and purple stand out. Grey tones for the walls always work well & go with everything. I thought this grey Moon Crescent wallpaper was really cool. The moons have a pretty silvery shimmer!

What do you think about purple accents for a boy? Rex’s favorite color is purple. (just like his big sis.) The purple pendant lamp has a nice masculine shape & would be fun to brighten up a little boy’s room.

Wallpapered Nursery

If you’ve been following my Inspired by Wallpaper series you know I have a bit of an obsession lately. I grew up with a wallpapered bedroom- maybe it’s nostalgic?

This nursery was decorated by Rachel of Lifeslittleembellishments.wordpress.com. She used Orla Kiely’s Multi Stem wallpaper on the accent wall. I love how nice it looks with the peachy pink painted walls.

Rachel mixed both vintage & modern elements in the room while keeping it easy on the budget. The thing that really blew my mind was that vintage light fixture…Rachel’s friend found it at GOODWILL for $6!! WOW!

We were shopping at IKEA over the weekend & I was so inspired by all of the inexpensive (& cute) furniture choices for the nursery. One of my FAVORITE new cribs is called the SUNDVIK. It comes in this dark chocolate color & is only $119! The POÄNG rocker is also a steal for only $139.00!

Do you have any IKEA furniture in your house?

The mood board above is a soft gender neutral option. Is anyone expecting a “surprise baby?” If so, what colors are you using to decorate with? I really love this grey & yellow wallpaper with the furry white rug.

BTW, IKEA has a FREE playroom for children that are potty trained. We dropped Harper off for an hour while we shopped with Rexford. She had a blast! Afterwards we decided to have dinner, then $1 ice cream cones & cinnamon buns. My husband & I are convinced that IKEA cinnamon buns are better than Cinnabon! Have you tried them? What is your favorite thing to eat at IKEA?

Good morning! Hope you had a nice weekend. Our’s was short & sweet as usual. Swimming with the kids on Sunday afternoon wore them out enough for a 7:00 bedtime! So, John & I enjoyed a thin crust pepperoni pizza & Merlot while watching Woody Allen’s Midnight in Paris. It was really inspiring & definitely the highlight of our weekend!

Today I want to share a feminine nursery mood board. When it comes to nursery decor I’m usually drawn to modern prints, but florals have grown on me. (i never thought i’d ever say that!) Does that mean that I am turning into my Grandmother? Or are florals the new modern?

I love this floral (unfortunately only DIGITAL) wallpaper by Cath Kidston. She has a really great floral collection. This particular rose print caught my eye because of the beautiful colors…I love the minty background with the peachy, red/orange flowers. It inspired the entire mood board. Hope you like it!

Good MONDAY morning! Last night my little man tossed and turned and kept me up until 2 am! So, I’m sipping an extra large Dunkin Doughnuts coffee this morning trying hard to keep my eyes open. Anyone else sleeeeepy today?

Today I want to share a room inspired by this darling Mountains Wallpaper. It is from one of my favorite online shops for nursery decor! The inspiration board was put together with a baby boy in mind, but I think the wallpaper would work equally well for a girl.

This week I pretty much fell in LOVE with this Red Wallpaper by Marcel at Graham & Brown. It has a really interesting pattern that would be super cool in a dining room. But what about a nursery? Wouldn’t it be beautiful and unexpected on the accent wall behind the crib?

As soon as I saw the washed out red color of the wallpaper I thought about a modern white crib & black crib sheet. I’ve picked out a black/white (AFFORDABLE) subtle polka dot sheet from guess where….TARGET! My fave place!

I think this room would be perfect for the MODERN girly girl. It would also be easy to transition into a toddler room. For the rest of the details click on the links above.

Because I am so “inspired by wallpaper” I’ve decided to make this a series of posts. This week I was thinking of a really soft gender neutral room with cool blues and greys. I think ANY white crib would look great in this nursery. Possibly a Jenny Lind or IKEA crib for budget-friendlyness sake?

11 Amazing Wallpapered Nurseries

When we were creating Violet’s nursery, I really wanted to use wallpaper but was worried it would be too difficult with her sloped walls. Some days I wish I had a huge house full of rooms so that I could use all of the amazing wallpaper that is out there! But since I’m not winning the lottery any time soon (considering I don’t play – oops!) I suppose I’ll just have to live vicariously through others. Wallpaper Accent Wall

What are you thoughts on wallpaper? It seems to have made a comeback the past few years. I love the idea of painted stripes or colorful wallpaper on an accent wall.

This nursery is especially beautiful! It was decorated by interior designer Natalie Clayman. It is rooms like this that make me want to hire an interior designer! I LOVE that beautiful rug and the combo of the upholstered chair with the leather footstool. I would have never thought to put them together.
