Rain Rain Go Away…
I’m at home with my little pumpkins today- another cold & R A I N Y day! I’m not one to claim boredom, but seriously wishing we could get outside. My kids do so much better after an hour of fresh air!
On another note, have you noticed the cute rain and cloud trend in children’s decor/accessories? Raindrop decals & plush cloud pillows somehow make rainy days a bit more cheerful, NO?

Mini Piccolini’s DIY Personalized Stroller Bunting

Our new Little Baby L is such an awake and aware little boy. When he’s not sleeping he always seems to be intently focused on something or smiling and laughing and trying to get our attention and he’s especially into his mobile at home.
During our long walk the other day, Louis was quite awake for awhile and I felt bad that he was just staring into the roof of the black sun shade. So I decided to make him something to look at. We ended up with a personalized stroller bunting – little flags with his name.
As I’ve said before, I’m obsessed with bunting right now. So I got some felt scraps, ribbon and fabric glue out and made some bunting for the stroller. Here’s how it turned out!

Origami Crane Mobile for Nursery
Today I wanted to show you a craft project I finished recently. When my daughter and I went to a mall the other day, they were giving out these paper origami cranes. They gave us three pretty cranes in pink and red; it was too cute to throw them out. I decided to enjoy them a bit longer by making them into a mobile for my daughter’s nursery. Although I did not make these cranes, it is easy to find many different origami tutorials online (Youtube is great for that), and you can follow this instruction for cranes. There is a custom to bring a mobile made out of 1000 paper cranes for someone who is sick or is hospitalized, to wish them to be well and for a long life. The crane is good luck here in Japan.
After that, I simply hung the cranes with a thread, and added another thread in order to hang the mobile from the ceiling.

Wouldn’t this be such a fun room for a little guy? The to-die-for leather mobile was the inspiration for the board. If I had a little boy, triangles + arrows would be on my list for sure!

One Print, Three Rooms Part III
Alright all of you lovers of traditional spaces – here’s one just for you! You’ve seen both a modern space and vintage-inspired space based on this group of prints from COSAS MINIMAS by Blanca Gomez on Etsy:
Here is the final space – it’s got a traditional vibe with stripes, plaids, and wood tones. The orangey-red pouf is back as well to round out the series:

One Print, Three Rooms Part II
On Monday I kicked off my second One Print, Three Rooms series with a very modern space inspired by this group of colorful prints from COSAS MINIMAS by Blanca Gomez on Etsy:
For the second space in the series I went for a more vintage vibe. The orangey-red pouf has made a second appearance, but warmer, earthier tones are replacing the graphic black and whites of the previous room.

One Print, Three Rooms
Let’s hear it for the boys! After my first One Print, Three Rooms series (which was decidedly girly) I promised to create a series for the little guys. We’ll kick it off today with a modern space inspired by this adorable group of prints from COSAS MINIMAS by Blanca Gomez on Etsy:
The colorful nature and graphic shapes in this print made me instantly lean in the direction of a modern children’s space, but I’ll mix it up in a few days and go with a more traditional and maybe a more vintage-inspired space as well.

Featured DIY – butterfly mobile
an adorable butterfly mobile by Courtney. stop by her Etsy store for more.
“I used cardstock and I cut them out by hand. I just searched for a butterfly pattern on the internet and then made a stencil.
I found the rings at Hobby Lobby and then just used what I would call fishing line to string each butterfly from the rings. After each butterfly was attached I tied a knot after it to keep it from moving. I think it would look really neat if you used stars as well.”

Featured DIY – Ladybug Mobile
thanks to Stephanie for sharing her adorable DIY mobile!

“…I used clear jewelery making string, beads and wood lady bug cut outs. I just painted the lady bugs tied them on the end of the string or used large beads and tied them on the end and then added beads to all the stings. I used two different size embrodiery rings (only using the inside ring – not the tension ring) and covered them with ribbon. Once I had all the my strings together I tied them to either the small ring or the large ring and then once that was done tied that all together.
I hope that makes sense!!! I got all the stuff I needed at Micheals and Jo Ann Fabrics.”
