Today’s nursery mood board was inspired by this cute choo choo train wallpaper. The wallpaper comes in 3 colors: teal, brown, & iron grey. The iron grey is definitely my favorite & the color chosen for this mood board. The room incorporates both vintage and modern accessories, with lots or metal. I love the look of the metal pendant lamp, and the large ampersand sign. It has just the right amount of rust to make it feel really authentic. I also thought it would be fun to add some burlap to this nursery. After searching Etsy for a few minutes I found this burlap ABC pouf. Isn’t it cute? For baby, I’ve chosen a rich brown crib with a rounded shape. Won’t this look fabulous against the choo choo accent wall?

I also wanted to add some vintage train photography to hang on the opposite wall of the nursery. My favorite photograph is #1 but I’ve included a few more that I also really liked. Wouldn’t it be fun to pick 3 or 4 of these photographs and cluster them on the wall? Which is your favorite?

Nursery Inspired By Wallpaper

Paeonia Wallpaper, GOLD
bear print
Vintage Textured World Globe
Wall hook – chevrons – navy blue sparkle glitter
Lights Up! Virgil Low Table Lamp
white Parsons End Table
Crochet Letters
Blue Whale Push Toy
Mouse doll – Light Gray Mouse
ORGANIC Toddler Bedding set – Stars – grey
Star shaped Pillow
Vintage Mid Century School Desk and Chair

Today’s mood board is sort of a retro-mod, eclectic design idea for a toddler room. I love the mustard floral wallpaper from Anthropologie which would be great for the accent wall behind the bed. The other walls could remain crispy white. The 2nd accessory I chose for the bedroom is the beautiful, vintage globe. The rest of the colors in the mood board tie into the colors on the globe. For a bit more depth to the room I added a bit of navy blue and some cool greys (on the bedding & the star pillow).

While the nursery mood board above was put together with a little girl in mind, you could easily make it more masculine:

In the masculine version of this mood board I’ve changed the wallpaper to something with a similar mustard color, Logpile in moss yellow. The lamp shade has been switched out for a crisp white one. (although a platinum or navy color would look equally nice). & I’ve gone with the same quirky designer for the wall print. I love this Bearded Sailor Print.

This afternoon I’ve put together a baby girl’s nursery mood board for you … modern with a bit of french flair. I am really in LOVE with this Parisian wallpaper by Famille Summerbelle. It also comes in yellow/silver & would be so cute on an accent wall.

As I was posting this I was thinking that the room would look great with black/white skinny striped pillow- maybe sitting on the rocker?

Good Morning. It is HOT, HOT, HOT here! 90s all week! Hope you had a nice weekend. We were busy with KARATE. Harper takes lessons now, and just got her Karate uniform. SO CUTE!

Today I’ve put together some quirky toddler BOY inspiration for you. The room was inspired by Mr. Snake. I LOVE all of the bright colors on his body.

I am not much of a “theme” decorator, so when I think of decor for a boy’s room all of the colors between orange and purple stand out. Grey tones for the walls always work well & go with everything. I thought this grey Moon Crescent wallpaper was really cool. The moons have a pretty silvery shimmer!

What do you think about purple accents for a boy? Rex’s favorite color is purple. (just like his big sis.) The purple pendant lamp has a nice masculine shape & would be fun to brighten up a little boy’s room.

Hope you have a fabulous 4th of JULY! (if you celebrate)…
I’ll be taking a few days for some quality family time this week. (pool, puzzles, popsicles, & possibly some much needed laundry folding!) xo, shari

Good morning! I have a quiet 1.5 hours to myself this Saturday morning. The kids are in their favorite place, our gym’s babysitting room. The ladies who work there are just WONDERFUL!

Before the madness of the day begins, I want to share this nursery mood board. I designed it with a baby girl in mind, but I think it could work for a BOY as well. It really just depends on how you choose to accessorize the room. It would also make a great boy/girl TWINS nursery! Even though this is an “inspired by wallpaper” series, the real inspiration for the room was the darling blanket which in my opinion is very “BOYISH!”

ENJOY your weekend! xo, shari

POÄNG rocker, SUNDVIK crib, blue nightstand, print, faux sheepskin rug, elephant lamp, cat dish, kitty ornament, Striped Wallpaper in Canary, mustache pillow

We were shopping at IKEA over the weekend & I was so inspired by all of the inexpensive (& cute) furniture choices for the nursery. One of my FAVORITE new cribs is called the SUNDVIK. It comes in this dark chocolate color & is only $119! The POÄNG rocker is also a steal for only $139.00!

Do you have any IKEA furniture in your house?

The mood board above is a soft gender neutral option. Is anyone expecting a “surprise baby?” If so, what colors are you using to decorate with? I really love this grey & yellow wallpaper with the furry white rug.

BTW, IKEA has a FREE playroom for children that are potty trained. We dropped Harper off for an hour while we shopped with Rexford. She had a blast! Afterwards we decided to have dinner, then $1 ice cream cones & cinnamon buns. My husband & I are convinced that IKEA cinnamon buns are better than Cinnabon! Have you tried them? What is your favorite thing to eat at IKEA?

Good morning! Hope you had a nice weekend. Our’s was short & sweet as usual. Swimming with the kids on Sunday afternoon wore them out enough for a 7:00 bedtime! So, John & I enjoyed a thin crust pepperoni pizza & Merlot while watching Woody Allen’s Midnight in Paris. It was really inspiring & definitely the highlight of our weekend!

Today I want to share a feminine nursery mood board. When it comes to nursery decor I’m usually drawn to modern prints, but florals have grown on me. (i never thought i’d ever say that!) Does that mean that I am turning into my Grandmother? Or are florals the new modern?

I love this floral (unfortunately only DIGITAL) wallpaper by Cath Kidston. She has a really great floral collection. This particular rose print caught my eye because of the beautiful colors…I love the minty background with the peachy, red/orange flowers. It inspired the entire mood board. Hope you like it!

Good MONDAY morning! Last night my little man tossed and turned and kept me up until 2 am! So, I’m sipping an extra large Dunkin Doughnuts coffee this morning trying hard to keep my eyes open. Anyone else sleeeeepy today?

Today I want to share a room inspired by this darling Mountains Wallpaper. It is from one of my favorite online shops for nursery decor! The inspiration board was put together with a baby boy in mind, but I think the wallpaper would work equally well for a girl.

Red Wallpaper by Marcel, Graham & Brown/Baby Mod – Olivia 3-in-1 Baby Crib/polka dot crib sheet/bird pillow/zigzag rug/California roots print/pink sherpa chair/finger puppets/bunny

This week I pretty much fell in LOVE with this Red Wallpaper by Marcel at Graham & Brown. It has a really interesting pattern that would be super cool in a dining room. But what about a nursery? Wouldn’t it be beautiful and unexpected on the accent wall behind the crib?

As soon as I saw the washed out red color of the wallpaper I thought about a modern white crib & black crib sheet. I’ve picked out a black/white (AFFORDABLE) subtle polka dot sheet from guess where….TARGET! My fave place!

I think this room would be perfect for the MODERN girly girl. It would also be easy to transition into a toddler room. For the rest of the details click on the links above.

Josephine Grey Wallpaper/cloud bookshelf/chartreuse polka dot pillow/mobile/giraffe pillows/elephant pillow/LOVE print/Elephant Crib Sheeting

Because I am so “inspired by wallpaper” I’ve decided to make this a series of posts. This week I was thinking of a really soft gender neutral room with cool blues and greys. I think ANY white crib would look great in this nursery. Possibly a Jenny Lind or IKEA crib for budget-friendlyness sake?

Be sure to check out the adorable crib sheet. If you zoom in you’ll notice the subtle elephant print.

& I’ve included 3 of my favorite books that would look cute on the cloud wall shelf:

And Tango Makes Three

The Skin You Live In

Little Pea

There is a BIG sale at Anthropologie & this amazing wallpaper is on sale. I always thought it would be darling on an accent wall in the nursery…possibly behind the crib? Anyone else planning on putting wallpaper in the nursery?
