Navy For The Nursery

I received a collection of prints from Lindsay Letters earlier in the week. (if you follow me on INSTAGRAM) you already got a sneak peak!) I was so inspired by this bold/NAVY Adventure print. I want to repeat this message OUT LOUD to Harper & Rex every day!

Anyone using NAVY in their nursery? NAVY is a fab color for boys, but would work really well for a gender neutral room as well. If I was using a lot of Navy I’d paint the walls crisp white for an amazing contrast. Here are a few of my current NAVY faves:

Today’s nursery mood board was inspired by the Blue Abstract Painting. I’ve been feeling the winter chill way too much this week, so I wanted to put together a room in the colors that remind me most of winter: BLUE, GREY, & WHITE.

I think this nursery would work equally well for boys as girls. Perhaps a good color scheme for your surprise baby? The walls could remain white or you could paint them a very subtle silvery-grey. I’d go with a white crib. Any style would work but something on the modern side would look sharp! or maybe an affordable Jenny Lind?

Good morning! Today I wanted to share some of my favorites from Serena & Lily. Instead of picking random things, I decided to make a mood board…

Everything in this mood board is from Serena & Lily except the orange painting. The inspiration for the room was actually the orange/blue stripe baby sleeper. ORANGE and BLUE seem like the perfect colors to incorporate into a gender neutral room. Because these are bold colors I chose to tone down the rest of the room with furniture & accessories in light neutrals. Don’t be afraid to mix whites, creams, greys, and beiges. They can actually compliment each other nicely!

Good Morning!

I found this painting on Saatchi Online last night and thought it was really beautiful. Maybe it is a bit more appropriate for the living room, but I loved the colors so much and thought it would be fun to put together a mood board for a little girl’s room.

I’ve loved the Jenny Lind bed in AZURE forever. I actually considered buying it for Harper before I decided to use a queen sized bed in her room. Is anyone using a colored Jenny Lind Crib or bed? I also think this IKEA chest is pretty fabulous. It reminds me of contemporary designer furniture, but is only $250!

Happy Friday! Any plans this weekend?  We are hoping to do some pumpkin picking and I’d love to finish painting Harper’s headboard & footboard.  After that I am done with furniture makeovers for awhile!

Good morning! It finally feels like fall here in southern NJ & it is so refreshing.

Last night I put together this nursery mood board inspired by the pastels in one of my new paintings. This is definitely a modern girl’s room, but there is no shortage of color. I think one of my favorite finds for the room is the solid mint crib sheet. I just love the look of a solid colored crib sheet in a modern crib. (no bumper or crib skirt needed.) Just a pretty blanky hand made by Grandma!

P.S. Most of the items in this room are pretty budget friendly. The only really expensive piece is the crib. The GULLIVER Crib in Birch would be my budget friendly alternative.

I saw the TOUKAI CHIHOU art print on Art.com last night and fell in love with the combination of colors. So, I thought it would be fun to put together a nursery mood board with this palatte:

RED, BLUE, & MINT.

I’ve chosen mostly modern accessories for this room. The crib is the most expensive piece. The chandelier & blue chair are budget accessories from IKEA. The mint shelf is the one vintage piece… I love it! (& I love to mix vintage & modern accessories.) You could use the shelf to display small toys & decorative accessories. Or wash out your glass baby food jars & store baby cutips, cotton balls, etc on this shelf. I am really obsessed with Washi tape lately & found this pretty green triangle patterned tape. It is perfect for taping a paper bunting over the crib.

Wednesday…but does it feel like Friday to anyone else? I just finished up my bagel and cream cheese, not toasted. While browsing Big Cartel stores this morning I found this fabulous alphabet print by RK Design.

So, I thought I’d change up my weekly Inspired by Wallpaper post this week. Isn’t this print the the perfect inspiration for a modern, colorful toddler room?

The colors that stood out to me most were the oranges and blues. The crochet bunny & velvety quilt cover are splurges. To offset the cost, I included one of my FAVORITE pendant lamps from IKEA. (a serious bargain.) I also LOVE the SUNDVIK bed. The grey/brown color makes it look much more expensive than it’s $124 price tag!
