Seeing Stripes Nursery

Hi there, Irene from designstiles today. I’ve been working on a little boy’s nursery since the end of last year and we’re just waiting for furniture to be delivered and paint to go up and we should be ready for a reveal by the end of March, just in time for baby’s arrival.

Mom wanted something soft but not too babyish, to give the room some interest and depth, we’re painting some blue horizontal stripes, inspired by this room:

And here is our interpretation

Mom also new she wanted the Larkin changing table from Pottery Barn. The side cabinet is ideal for hiding the diaper pail and since it’ll be the first furniture piece people will see when they walk into room, it made perfect sense.

To offset the white changing table, we picked this beautiful archway crib in a grey wash to add some warmth.

To ground the space and give the room some visual interest and soft texture, we chose this wool rug.

Picking up some of the grey tones in the rug, is the sloped arm glider which mimics the curved lines of the crib. We’re also doing the matching ottoman.

A crinkled linen pendant to coordinate with crib will add pretty casual simplicity.

Incorporating deeper hints of color are the bedding and side table (navy no longer available).

To add personality and an overall extra layer of cuteness is the artwork. All from Minted, my go-to for cool but affordable art.

And last but not least are just little details like this adorable little giraffe. We’ll also be doing a bookcase for toys and personal mementos.

And soon enough I will share the end result.

Happy Wednesday!
