Cardstock Paper Animal Masks

What do you do on those rainy days when you’re homebound with the kids? It has been such a miserable winter and Pinterest has been a life savor for us! I’ve pinned all sorts of arts & crafts and DIY projects for yucky weather days.

A few days ago I saw a printable bunny mask (via and thought it would be fun to try making my own! I used the same idea of folding a paper in half to cut out lion & kitty cat shaped masks (requested by Harper & Rex).

I love the simple concept of folding your cardstock and then cutting a silhouette. When you open the cardstock both sides are perfectly symmetrical no matter how quirky your silhouette is!

This project is super simple. You will need:
* Cardstock
* Scissors
* Exacto Knife (I used my Quick Changing Utility Knife from my Tomboy Traveler set)
* String (If you have elastic string that would be best)
* Crayons/Markers/Washi Tape (or anything to decorate the mask)
* optional: hole punch

1. Fold your cardstock in half and cut your silhouette.
2. Use your exacto knife to cut out the eyes
3. Use your exacto knife or hole punch to make holes where you can tie your string.
4. Decorate! I used crayons + washi tape for the lion’s nose, cat’s nose, and cat’s ears.

My kids loved playing in these masks and the ideas are limitless. Rex has already requested a piggy next time!
