11 Amazing Wallpapered Nurseries

When we were creating Violet’s nursery, I really wanted to use wallpaper but was worried it would be too difficult with her sloped walls. Some days I wish I had a huge house full of rooms so that I could use all of the amazing wallpaper that is out there! But since I’m not winning the lottery any time soon (considering I don’t play – oops!) I suppose I’ll just have to live vicariously through others. Here are ten eleven children’s spaces that got it just right:

Would you ever use wallpaper in a nursery?

Leaving on a Jet Plane

There won’t be much blogging today…

Tomorrow we leave for our first family vacation, EEEK!

We are going to the Bahamas & it will be Rex’s first time on an airplane. Because I am somewhat of a procrastinator, today I will be packing clothes, toys, snacks, & LOTS of diapers/swimmers!

I’ll be making quick trips to Home Depot & the Dollar store as well. 2 quick tips that I jotted down..

1. Toddlers love to play with paint chip samples. I am going to grab a bunch of the Mickey Mouse shaped ones for him to play with on the plane.

2. I also read a tip about buying a bunch of Dollar store goodies and wrap them up like presents. Any time that your child starts getting antsy pull out a new present for him/her to open. Has anyone else tried this on a flight with a toddler or long road trip?

So, BON VOYAGE for now. Since I am a bit addicted to my computer and blogging I will be checking in sometime next week & will share some photos/details from our first family vacation.

Wish us luck! XO, shari

Shared Girls’ Bedroom

What do you think of when you hear bunkbeds? I always think of a somewhat cheesy 80s style room with robot wallpaper! I’m not sure why that comes to mind, maybe because of memories from a friend’s room from the past?

Anyway, Susana sent me some photos of her daughters’ shared bedroom. It literally blew me away- definitely NOT cheesy 80s style! You can tell how much time & effort went into decorating this beautiful room. It is completely magazine worthy! I love the lines of the beds & did you notice the cute vintage knobs that she attached on the end of the bed? Anyone else now tempted to use lilac accents?

Susana is not a designer by career, but she probably should be…you should see the rest of her home in Porto, Portugal! (& her garden is stunning as well!)

visit for all of the details and more photos of Susana’s home.

& visit her Pinterest Album for A LOT more photos of her daughters’ bedroom.

Nursery Idea Board: Neon + Geometry

So I’ve decided to take a little break from doing custom idea boards and just do some for fun. I’m hoping to post one each week if life doesn’t get away from me. Right now two of my favorite things are neons and geometrics, wouldn’t that be such a fun combination for a nursery?!

Clockwise from top left: crib sheets, mobile, pillow, lamp, rug, lion print, original screenprint, wall hooks, neon elephant, crib, blocks, clock

What other nursery idea boards would you like to see?

Felt crafts

Martha Stewart has a fun collection of felt crafts on her site. My absolute FAVORITE is the toadstool chair. I love the idea of using an old tree stump for a seat! Wouldn’t it be fun to make a collection of these?
