Kitty Cat Birthday Party

This party is so sweet- I love that Jennifer picked the good old-fashioned kitty cat for the theme of her daughter’s birthday party. Who needs pop culture cartoons characters for a good party, right? And don’t the children look darling in their kitty ears?
A bit of info from Jennifer about the party:
“We just celebrated my daughter, Emily’s, 2nd birthday. She LOVES cats so I decided to make that the theme. When searching for ideas online all I kept coming across was Hello Kitty. Although Hello Kitty is cute, I wanted to just have an old fashioned kitty party. Once I decided on the theme, I would keep my eyes open for any kitty finds. I found two ceramic cat planters at a local antique mart as well as the chalkboard kitty that was originally blue. I made the bunting banner with help from a tutorial that I found online. It was a “no sew” banner since I don’t sew! I also made kitty cat ears for all of my daughters friends to wear. With the left over fabric from the banner, I had a neighbor sew fabric mice with ribbon tails and the kids went on a mouse hunt. We also played pin the tail on the cat. I found an image online, and took it to a local print shop to have it enlarged. For party favors we handed out a copy of the, Shy Little Kitten (a golden book) to everyone. So much easier then filling goodie bags with the same old stuff! For dessert I made cupcakes and kitty cat sugar cookies. We served them with milk, of course! Everyone had a great time at the party including my daughter. After singing Happy Birthday, she wanted everyone to do it again. She even blew out her candle all by herself!”

Love it! Where did you get the cute milk bottles?
Jennifer
Hi Tamara,
I actually just used empty Starbucks iced coffee bottles! You can buy glass bottle online, but a dozen will cost you around 30 dollars. These was cheaper and we got the coffee too
Just have to plan ahead a little to save the amount that you will be needing.

You did an awesome job with the kitty party! I am planning a kitty cat party for my daughter who LOVES kitties… and I don’t want to do the Hello Kitty theme which I find everywhere! You had GREAT ideas that I may ‘borrow’!
So cute!
