i’m dreaming of an exotic vacation! why is it so cold this winter? we had another 16 inches of snow yesterday. by the time i got out to shovel (at 2 pm when babies were napping) my neighbor had already shoveled my driveway and the entire walkway! thank you for wonderful neighbors!
p.s. doesn’t the water look really shallow to be cliff jumping? or maybe it is just really clear water? or maybe i am just getting older & less daring!

are you going on vacation this year? if so, where? i’d love to go here or here- unfortunately no exotic vacations planned.

DIGITS

a SAHM = busy & always on the go. preschool, grocery store, target, back to preschool, spanish class, play dates, gym, back to grocery store. i am ALWAYS driving somewhere!

as a mom blogger, i am pretty obsessive with my iPhone. & now i don’t even have to take off my gloves (in this FREEZING weather) to check email, blog, text, and answer the phone.

My very good friend Rebekah and I both found out that we are pregnant in July 2010. We’d spent most of the summer apart so we decided to go on a walk to catch up in early August. We both planned to use the walk as an opportunity to tell the other the wonderful news. It was quiet a scene when we both spilled the beans. It actually took us each several minutes to integrate this new information. Not only were we expecting our first babies but we were expecting them together, at the same time. We later confirmed that our due dates are just days apart! We joke that we’ll likely go into labor at the same time and then we’ll share a recovery room at the hospital. We talk every morning and compare symptoms and laugh. It has been the most amazing support.

Each Sunday we meet at a local park (we live in Sitka, Alaska) and take a weekly photo of our growing bellies. Sometimes, we’re lucky and my husband agrees to come along to take the photo so we don’t have to carry the tripod down the trail. We started the photos at week 14 and thought we were smart in our tank tops and leggings. It’s gotten colder and each week we seem surprised by this discovery as we remove our layers. It’s not always our favorite activity on Sunday but we’re both so happy that we’re sticking to our plan. We can’t wait to see the final series and share it with our children one day.
