baby GAP

i have been getting so many Gap coupons lately (20%, 30%, and 40% off!)…these sales are tempting me like crazy. i did not purchase anything yesterday or on black Friday. have you done any holiday shopping? what have you purchased?

i have very little to buy. some stocking stuffers for the children and possibly a toy for harper. kaley already got a new pair of skis, and we will put some money into the college fund for the little ones.

my husband and i don’t do gifts for each other. we prefer to buy our own things!

we FINALLY bought a new car!

remember last December when we started shopping for a new SUV? the original requirement was a small-ish SUV (with 3 rows of seats) to fit in our NYC parking garage. my first choice was a new Toyota Forerunner with a 3rd row to replace my 1999 Forerunner…but, no one wanted to sell us one! it turns out that there are very few made and they are difficult to get.

so we gave up on getting a new vehicle since i could not find anything else that i loved! i really LOVE my 1999 Toyota and was in no hurry to replace it. it has 110,000 miles on it and still drives so nice.

this weekend we decided to car shop again and this time we looked at large SUVs. i go up to NYC so rarely these days- it is hard to be in the city with 2 under 2! we decided that we will keep the Toyota Forerunner for trips into the city, but get a larger SUV for the suburbs. we looked at the Lincoln Navigator, Ford Expedition, Infiniti QX56, Toyota Sequoia, and Nissan Armada.

the choice was super easy…my husband and i fell in LOVE with the new 2011 body style of the Infiniti QX56

we ordered it in silver with wheat interior and get to pick it up on Saturday. this is the biggest purchase we have made in a long time and our only Christmas present! so so glad to be done with car shopping for hopefully a good 10 years!
