a new crib for my daughter
now that we have our NY apartment set up, i realize that we have more space than i had originally thought. i would like to buy an inexpensive crib for the corner of our family room…here are some cute ideas at Ikea:

this is the winner (i think) for only $79.99!
does anyone else have a crib from Ikea? which one do you have and how do you like it? does it fit a standard sized crib mattress?

I have the white gulliver cot, similar to the plain wood one above. I love it, its very sturdy and not at all over the top. Definately good for small spaces. Fits a standard size cot mattress and bedding. One of our overall best baby buys and would highly recommend!

I have the Tassa crib (few years old)
We love it ! Love, it, love it ! Just recently we broke it down to the toddler bed, bought some bed rails and new bedding, and I still love my Ikea crib.

Consumer Reports rated the Leksvik crib as one of their top picks. They do so many safety tests, it is probably a good recommendation. And its a nice looking crib. I am not a fan of the IKEA look in general, but the Leksvik has a very simple design. And it's not expensive.
I went for the Stokke crib that grows with your kid. It is very small in the beginning when the baby is young, and it has wheels, so I can move it from my bedroom to baby room or living room with no problems. Also, by the time I buy a baby crib and a toddler bed, or a real bed, I'm spending almost the same as what the Stokke costs.
I guess it's an investment!

We have the Leksvik and LOVE it. My husband actually crawls in there with our 6 month old and plays with him. That thing is STURDY.

Our Carolina sleeps in the white Gulliver crib, and we LOVE it! It's very neutral so pretty much any bedding will go with it and yes a standard crib mattress fits perfectly in it (we got ours from IKEA too). Plus: It fits through a standard doorway!
